In an era where climate change, disasters, and environmental degradation are growing global concerns, the International Institute of Disaster Management (IIDM) in collaboration with Paryavaran Chetna organized a series of three National Conferences in December 2024.
These conferences aimed to foster dialogue, share knowledge, and strengthen cooperation among scientists, policymakers, academicians, and youth to address challenges linked to environment, climate change, and disaster management.
The programs brought together eminent speakers from India and abroad, creating a unique platform for learning, discussion, and action-oriented collaboration.

The conference began with the release of the 30th edition of Paryavaran Chetna magazine, a milestone in three decades of spreading awareness on environmental issues and climate change.
Dr. Meeta Singh, Chairperson of the PR Group, delivered the keynote address emphasizing the powerful role of media in shaping public awareness and policy action for environmental conservation.
The session also featured a thought-provoking address by Sh. Satyendra Singh IAS (Retd.), Chairman of IIDM, who highlighted the deep connections between environment, climate change, and spiritual values. His words reminded the audience that true sustainability requires not only technological and policy changes but also transformation in human values and behavior.
The presence of spiritual guide Parampujya Guruji Urvashi Ben Ba from Kadi Peeth, Ahmedabad, added a divine dimension to the session, inspiring the gathering with her blessings.
The afternoon session commenced with the release of the latest edition of the Vanchit Bharat Vaani Newsletter.
In her keynote, Dr. Meeta Singh once again drew attention to the challenges posed by unchecked human activities that disrupt the balance of nature and threaten all living beings. She urged participants to adopt sustainable practices at both individual and community levels.

Throughout its journey, Paryavaran Chetna has played a vital role ineducating society about the consequences of climate change, pollution, deforestation, and unsustainable development practices . By bringing scientific research, expert opinions, grassroots stories, and success models of conservation to its readers, the magazine has served as a bridge between policymakers, experts, and the general public. It has consistently highlighted the importance of striking a balance between human progress and nature’s preservation.
